The Life That Mattered by Jewel E. Ann
5.0
WHAT ON EARTH?! I am ruined!
The dynamic between Lila , Graham, Evelyn & Ronin is something else.
The chemistry between Roe & Evie leapt from the pages from their very first interaction over bubble tea & buns. I was entranced. And it got even better. Watching their growth as a couple, and then as a family was beautiful.
Graham & Lila didn’t do the same for me, and ultimately I kind of disconnected with their characters for a bit, although that definitely changed later on in the book.
I wasn’t anticipating the turns that left me gasping, nor was I expecting the ending that has me gripping the ends of my hair, hoping I get the next before the high of this story wears off.
I don’t have a lot of experience with this author’s works, but I can happily acknowledge that is about to change. Immediately.
Recommend.
