A Marriage in Dog Years by Nancy Balbirer

Did not finish book.

2.0

I wanted to like this book because of my own connection with my dog and said dogs important role in our family’s daily life and wellbeing. I could not care as much about the story of the narrators marriage as I did about Ira’s life, which I guess isn’t so different from the theme of this marriage for the first 1/3 of the book. I picked it up and put it down a lot, coming back to it to give it another shot. The will to stick around, for me, did not arise naturally and was mostly in the spirit of knowing what happens to the dog.

There is a chance this may have gotten really good in the middle or end, but I just can’t stay awake to read it.
