While reading this I had to stop and re-read “A taste of iron and gold” (still excellent, I still love it). Then I immediately picked this back up and continued reading. It was so utterly perfect, is such a lovely background of Tadek and a continuation/epilogue of ATOIAG all in one, and had such a perfect ending. I absolutely sobbed reading the last few chapters, the good crying when it’s something lovely but so sad but still so heartwarming. I really love Evemer, Kadou, and Tadek—I hope we get more of them in the future (including the big event alluded to in this book). It was lovely and wonderful and I absolutely recommend reading it.
