I've been away from the Grishaverse for quite a while and was almost hesitant to pick up KoS, worried I wouldn't remember enough from the previous entries to really follow. A worry I got over quite quickly! Bardugo throws in plenty of snippets of backstop for a refresher while also leading us along this new journey, split (mostly) between Nikolai/Zoya and Nina. I really loved all the action, intrigue, and layers of emotion. I'd say my biggest qualm is that there's a lot of exposition - basically everything that happens is both shared and then explained, which I found kind of tedious after a while. Also, the passages about Grisha girls being forced to carry children while also being forcefully drugged was particularly hard to read . All in all, great fun and what a cliffhanger ending!
