Jana Garner has me comparing her to Laila Ali or Ronda Rousey. One thing that impressed me is how she has to juggle so much but you can see her passion for what she wants. Before even meeting Hunter LaCroux, you can tell he’s going to be a “bad” boy. Then once you do meet him, you know it’s true. He certainly keeps Jana on her toes. Loved how he put a spin on things instead of taking her at her word.
It was fun to watch how Hunter operates. He confuses Jana but also confuses himself. Almost as if he has no choice but doesn’t understand why. This is one more book that had me wishing that I were there. I want to be on that beach watching this group and see the love that they all have for each other. They all support one another and love doing pranks – just because you’re past a certain age doesn’t mean you have to give up on having fun.
The author has written a note to her readers and it’s one you should read – yes, I used to be one of those that skipped anything at the beginning just to get to the story. She’ll let you know which book that she recreated. I’m sure it had to be tough because as I was reading this, and with Hunter being such a bad boy, you could see how tough it was for him to hold things in. But it also left me wanting to compare the two just to see if I could figure out how the author was able to accomplish this.
I love how she always gets me to laugh and by having the two books I can laugh along with Jana and Hunter twice as much. The perfect triple threat is when you add in the audiobook version. Now that summer is one day closer that just makes this the perfect storm. Sometimes I can’t get to the beach but now that I have a fire pit, I can sit by my fire and read this series from beginning to end. But when you get to the end of this book, you’ll see that our author isn’t done yet because with next month comes the next book.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
