Don't Let Her Stay by Nicola Sanders
3.0

I ate this book up in two sittings because I just wanted to keep reading to see how it ends. First thoughts, I hated how Joanne didn't do much about Chloe speaking to her that way in her own house. That paired with the gaslighting from Richard was a little unbearable. I had so many mixed emotions reading this book. From the beginning of the book, it's very predictable how the book will end. Definitely hated Chloe’s character (and Richard’s) because of how they both treat Joanne. Also hated Joanne's character because she was such a push over and so incredibly gullible. That being said, I will give credit where it's due – I did have a lot of different emotions while reading the book, going from despising Chloe, to feeling for her, to thinking "-oop my prediction was very far off", and then finally going "haha just kidding it was pretty accurate". I haven't read many thrillers, so I still found myself unable to put the book down just because I loved the element of suspense. I'm used to reading romance books where we get an epilogue on how all the characters end up so there's a big part of me that wants to know what the heck happens next. I was debating between whether to rate this a 4 but I felt like a 3.5 was more appropriate just because of how I felt about the characters.
