On Wings of Blood
by Briar Boleyn
Strong character development:
No
Loveable characters:
No
This was clearly giving every other popular fantasy book ever. Takes massively from Fourth Wing, Harry Potter and The Hunger Games (and probably more that I just can’t remember right now).
Is it objectively a good book? No. Was it a quick and fun read? Yes.
I felt a real lack of attachment to the characters and there was like no character growth at all?? Whenever I thought the MMC was redeeming himself he had to go and be a possessive, lying, abusive prick. Our FMC was just very one dimensional and I just don’t particularly care for her.Even when one of the main side characters died I was just like ‘okay??’, had me feeling absolutely nothing - except for how the way they died was just a clear Hunger Games rip off.
The ending has me intrigued so I will probably continue the series, but I am in no rush to do so.
