“You have a light in you that shines so bright it can’t be dimmed.”
🏒 First person dual POV
🏒 Fourth in a series that can be read as stand alone (I read this book first)
🏒 Single dad —going through a messy divorce
🏒 Instalove
🏒 She’s his son’s doctor (he switches doctors once it’s a conflict of interest 👌🏻)
🏒 NHL player / Oncologist
🏒 ALL the feels 😭
🏒 Wholesome AF
🏒 The relationship she builds with his son 🥹
🏒 Meddling friends
🏒 Well established secondary characters: Cooper (Book 1), Matthew & Karrie (Book 2), Max & Allison (Book 3), Vivienne, Evie, Janet.
🏒 MC growth: Overcoming past trauma, choosing each other every day, past toxic relationship (being a married single parent).
🏒 2 Epilogues
🏒 Quick read
• An attempted SA in the past is glossed over tokenistically :/
• One conflict between FMC and MMC’s ex didn’t make sense; FMC states “I’m not doing this because I have class” then proceeds to antagonist the ex in front of children.
• There’s a weird time jump back and forth partway through as if four chapters were accidentally shuffled. 🤷🏻♀️
⚠️ Infidelity (not MC), cancer (child), attempted sexual assault (past, revisited on page), medical content/trauma (cancer patient), parental abandonment (not MC), toxic relationship (ex partner).
Graphic: Medical content, Toxic relationship, Cancer, Medical trauma, Sexual content, and Infidelity
Moderate: Abandonment and Sexual assault
