Credit for intriguing new world
The Role of One was a free kindle book for me. I loved the description of the society. Taking all the worst ideas for society, isolationism extending to states and cities, no guns for citizens, complete loss of individual privacy and adding China's one child policy drew me in. I will say that my 3 stars are mostly for originality. Execution would be a one star. The authors a did Not give us time to understand the characters before moving the plot along. And the plot was essentially danger, fortuitous plot device to help escape, on the run, rinse and repeat. I have no idea why the bad guys were bad. And I cannot really tell you much about Ava and Mira as separate entities. All of this can be fixed but I'm not sold that I will read a second book in this series.
