One Dark Throne
by Kendare Blake
4.25 or 4.5
I'm not going to write too much of a review because this is the second book in a series and I don't want to risk spoiling anything. Also, it's going to be hard to write a review for this one because I don't know if I can fully articulate my thoughts. But I'm going to try.
This was sooooo much better than Book 1. Where Book 1 felt like it was a big setup for everything in the series, this one was non-stop action. The first book spends a lot of time introducing readers to the world and the huge cast of characters. Because of that, it felt very slow and drawn out. But this one starts of with action almost immediately and it never really slows down. Which was fantastic. The plot just keeps getting thicker and the stakes just keep getting higher and I was here for it. The characters just continue to grow and develop even more and their stories are getting so interesting.
I am so excited to see where this series goes from here because at this point, it's only half over and so much has already happened. I can confidently say that I have no clue where it's going to go from here, but I can't wait to find out. I think my heart will broken about 16 more times before this series ends, but I am ready for it. I'm glad I don't have to wait too long for Book 3 because the end of this one left me with sooooo many new questions.
