Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy

This is a very entertaining book. The writing is witty and full of smart, sharp banter. I particularly liked it because romance was not at all the focus of the story; the focus is on the developing relationship between a skeleton detective and a rather ordinary young girl that decides to go with him due to peculiar circumstances, as well as their quest to not let the world go to the dogs.

Very good for pleasure-reading. Contains magic, puns, humor, action, and some of the more interesting names for people I've ever seen.
