The Beast House by Richard Laymon
4.0

I've only read 3 Laymon books to date, but this one was the best so far by a long shot. I mean, for a start, the actual story was really good fun, and the 3 different plots going on worked really well, flitting back and forth between the characters.
Also, I know Laymon is known for his over the top sexual encounters, but he held back on this one which made the reading so much more enjoyable. I mean there was still a few over-descriptive r*pe scenes, but they felt like more part of the plot rather than some fantasy Laymon was playing out in his head. And, I actually cared about some of teh characters in this book, like teh two main girls, Nora and Tyler.
Enojyed this one and would give it a 4.5 stars. I was gutted though as I did not realise this is part of a series, and haven't read 'The Cellar' first... so will have to go back to that one now, and read it like a prequel story instead lol.
