The plot of this book follows a meek librarian orphan named Lazlo Strange. He happens upon the chance of a lifetime to travel to “The Unseen City”, the subject of his studies for practically his entire life. The characters in this book are full bodied and wonderful, the atmosphere is exquisite and the writing is, as always when it comes to Laini Taylor, lush and immersive. The twists and turns this story takes at the very end of the book are just chef’s kiss. I loved this book.
