Anne's House of Dreams
by L.M. Montgomery
i had such a steady momentum of reading anne books until this one. it just slaps you in the face with LIFE. all the hard, sad, joyful, and emotional parts. i stopped for about a week when i came to the part about Joyce because it was so unexpected and it was a lot for me. i love anne so much and have loved her for years through movies + tv, but to get to know her deeper through the books and griefs that weren’t portrayed on the screen wasn’t easy and i needed some time. but this book is beautiful with how grief and hardship is encountered through life.
