I was so impressed with the writing within this novel. I found the imagery and the descriptiveness of the writing to completely immerse me in the world of this book. I also found the detail given to each character was amazing and so well thought out. I especially liked Granma Mary Rommely. I found everything she said to be so wise and I really respected her for how she protected her daughters. I felt like I could personally relate to Francie because I also really like the subject of English and telling stories. I really enjoyed being able to read about her growing up it almost felt like I was a part of the Nolan family. I especially liked the happy ending at the end of the story. I always love a happy ending and this one felt exceptionally satisfying.
