The Wildflower
by J.L. Beck
If being publicly humiliated by Drew at the end of the previous book wasn’t enough, Maybel has just been floored by another bombshell and The Wildflower sees her navigating the loss of her mother and the surprise addition of a new brother in Sebastian but on the plus side it looks like he’s going to be the overprotective variety and has every intention of protecting her from Drew who is determined to win her back whether she’s willing or not.
Bel is hit with a lot in this book but it’s the making of her. She realises her own worth and is not so much of a doormat with Drew. As a character Drew was a darker shade of morally grey, but underneath the dark and psychotic façade he presented to the world was a hint of vulnerability that will touch your heart. He’s stuck between a rock and hard place, appeasing his brutal father while trying to uncover his plans and protect his mother and is obsessed with winning Bel back. In an emotional and steamy story filled with twists and secrets he’s about to discover out his wallflower has bloomed and he’s going to have to earn her love. I can’t wait to read more from the Oakmount Elite series.
