I was hooked within the first few pages. All over the world, people receive boxes with a string and a cryptic note stating this is the measure of their days. I liked reading about how people reacted, how some chose to divide, others gained a false sense of superiority, and some found more depth of meaning in a short time than others did with decades. Great allegory!
