The Missing of Clairdelune by Christelle Dabos
5.0
Another outstanding installment in this series. It ends on a more satisfying note than the previous, with the character arc between Thorn and Ophelia finally completed--and it does benefit from taking two complete books to get there--the mystery solved, and the newer, deeper mystery introduced. Where the first two books were engaging with the society that has been built on this post-cataclysmic world that was remade into arcs floating in the void, ruled by family spirits and characterized by different magics, it seems as if the remainder of the series is going to engage more with the world itself: what happened in the cataclysm, who did it, how did it get remade, why was it remade, and so on. I am thoroughly on board with all the narrative decisions, and I'm very curious to see what will happen next.
