I really liked this! I think the book could have used more chapters from Jainan’s perspective and some of the end stuff moves a little quickly but overall I really enjoyed it.

I love how the author approached gender here as well. There are many non-binary characters and each character was fully fleshed out without the author ever having to resort to explicitly gendered physical descriptions. I really appreciated that.
