The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner

  • Diverse cast of characters? No

2.5

All in all I enjoyed this book, though I was unhappy with the main character‘s scientific ethics in regards to „keeping Eliza es her own little secret“ and generally the fact that some things seemed unrealistic - why would she freak out so much about trespassing into a clearly abandoned building (surely one would get away with a low fine) or the way the final revealing newspaper article was written (too prose-like and detailed for a news report). Nevertheless I liked the concept of the story and the writing, especially the parts of Nella and Eliza.
If you are not bothered by things like the ones I mentioned above, you might like it though.
