Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer

4.0

Good books make you see the world and the people around you with new eyes. This one does that for sure.

It took me a bit of time to find my footing in this book as the organizational style was difficult for me to grasp, but I am receiving so much wisdom from this book. The Thanksgiving Address is something I would love to incorporate in my life, especially during the American traditional Thanksgiving holiday.

A small note, but I was saddened by the uncomfortability Kimmerer felt with the ignorant questions some of her Christian students posed to her. I saw the Christianity I know many times in the wisdom she shared. I also am humbled and learning from the traditional indigenous oral stories she told as well.
