Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris

Spoilers like woah~
The Ending was really rushed, like the last one hundred page. Its like she was just like fuck this, let it be over already.
Eric’s departure was… Quick and he sorta just left without any sort of emotional repercussions outside of the first couple of chapters where they were still kinda together.
And then there was a throwaway line how Eric was planning to have Karin, Sookie and Pam be his three little blond children and it was weird. She sorta villainized him? I mean I know he wasn't the greatest guy… but I always thought his character was better than that. Idk.
Sook and Sam just…. Got together. I thought that could have been written better. Not just… Hot day, bikini, she sunbakes and then remembers iPod which is conveniently, for the story, at Merlotte's so she goes there and Sam is all sweaty and trimming hedges? And bam sex and ‘plunging’ and it was.. badly written.
Especially how like I dont think even two weeks past since he was reserected and all this shit happened she just broke up with Eric and yeah. I guess she was all like ‘no commitment right now just sex Im still hurting from Eric and this is rebound sex but dont think its rebound sex but no emotional talks!’ Eugh.
And then she just gets kidnapped by Lawyer Guy and Newlin and CLAUDE has suddenly become the Mastermind to all this and then hes all like YOU WOULDN'T SLEEP WITH ME I HATE YOU and shes like no you are gay and then HOMOPHOBES ATTACK and they are captured by a bunch of civilians and Sookie yells to Claude about prison and he suicides by cop?
Ugh. I really reallyreallyreallyreally hate how Claude was written. Seriously. Hatehatehatehatehatehate. He was such a good character and the author just threw everything out the window and it upset me and ncufnjnfirnd.
All that in the last hundred pages, or so.
No.
I liked the first half of the story… But then it just went downhill. I will be reading the companion guide book that's coming out in October though, to see what happens with Sherriff Pam because reasons.
