The time jumps in this story really made this a tough story to follow, but I can appreciate Huang’s style of throwing the reader into the story immediately – I was pulled into their world as quickly as possible. All the secret glances and soft touches I expected between Rhys and Bridget were non-existent as lust was emphasized over a secret relationship. Part of this has to be because of a slow burn I didn’t feel. Through the book, I felt like parts weren’t really engaging, but in the end, I love how Rhys and Bridget both found their comfort in each other.
