This book was better than expected, my friend told me that she liked the book but didn’t find it good enough to recommend to others, I wanted to see what this book was about. I did know the plot twist from the start because of spoilers but in the end was sobbing. throughout the book cadence, MC, is trying to figure out what happened last summer, since she had a an accident and forgot everything. She goes back to her families summer island to see if it jogs her memory. Ever since she was a kid her cousins; Johnny and mirren, were inseparable along with gat who is a family friend, they called themselves the Liars. Cadence is asking them where they were when she had the accident and why they never reached out to her. Throughout the book cadence gets her memories back and remembers them wanting to change the toxicity of the family (aunties & granddad) by taking the thing that made them toxic most, the house. The liars plan to burn the house down and do so but accidentally burn Gat, Johnny, and Mirren down with it. After this happens everything makes sense. Cadence was delusional because of the medications she was on from the accident, and the liars were never there. /This book gets very emotional at the end, and would not say it is a good summer read because of the heavy topics. But it was a very hooking read, so props to the author
