The Cooking Gene: A Journey Through African American Culinary History in the Old South by Michael W. Twitty

emotional informative reflective slow-paced

If you have any interest in food or history this book is for you. This book feels like it should be part of a required reading list. The energy and effort that took to write this book is evident chapter after chapter. It look me a little over two months to complete because I didn’t want to rush through it. The book also has recipes at the end of some chapters which I always appreciate.
