a fairly average plot- middle school age girl falls in love and goes on an adventure because of it? sorta? revolutionary girl utena has been an interesting read, to say the least. sadly, it falls into a few bad tropes regarding the treatment (by both creator and characters) of anthy, the only character of colour in the story. i also found myself often forgetting that the main character is supposed to be in 7th or 8th grade…
