The Privileges by Jonathan Dee

3.0

I wanted something horrible to happen to the Moreys, which seemed quite ungenerous of me. Much of made was the great love Adam and Cynthia shared, but I didn't register their relationship as full of love or joy but based on dependence. They did share a belief that the past was not worth revisiting, reflecting on, or understanding. I was somewhat flustered by the quick changes in point of view, but otherwise thought the writing lovely. I just didn't feel a connection with the characters, though I was quite excited when Jonas was relocated to University of Chicago since that is my alma matter.
