I have loved this series and I truly did think this was a wonderful conclusion. That being said, it felt as though it moved so fast that there were times it left me wanting more information, or to see more of the changes on the page. I did, however,  find the second book a bit repetitive and slow at times, so maybe I just can’t be satisfied with the pacing. I want to make this review mostly spoiler-free, but I will say that the ending specifically is what solidified my feelings. I really loved the way things were drawn to a conclusion, my one qualm being that I wish there was more context to one character’s failure and simultaneously their father’s success; I kept waiting for a discussion to clarify a certain twist, but it never came. While inference covers a lot, I again was feeling the want for more information; just a bit more to the story to feel satiated. With that in mind however, I did still thoroughly enjoy the ending: the switching perspectives, the twist mentioned above, the way it was a happy ending and yet not a ‘happy ending’. I love when stories give space for the reader to determine what comes next in the world. I will definitely be thinking about this world for quite a bit of time to come, and I will definitely be tuning in to other worlds Alyson Noël creates!
