Uninvited by Amanda Marrone

I've had this on my shelf for awhile now. I'm glad I picked it up finally. It drew me in right away. It's a totally different take on vampires than most of the vampire fiction I've read in recent years. This one doesn't romanticize the vampires as much. What I really liked about the book, however, was the main character's growth and maturing throughout the book. How she was finally able to see what was good for her and what was bad for her. How she was able to start standing up for herself and asking for what she wanted and needed, not only from friends but from her own mother. And how, unlike some female protagonists, she was able to get up and save herself. I think this book could be good for teenage girls to look at their own relationships and kind of figure out if they are real or materialistic, or even unhealthy.
