Carly's aunt disappeared in the 80's. Now that Carly's mom has passed away Carly decides it's time to go to Fell, NY and see what she can find out about the past. She gets a job at the same hotel that her aunt worked in and starts to investigate the strange things going on with the hotel and wondering if there is a link to her aunt.
The alternative perspective is her aunt Viv. Viv has run away from home and nobody is coming to look for her. She finds a job at a random hotel in Fell, NY and finds that she has no urge to leave. There are a lot of strange happenings at the hotel. Girls are disappearing and Viv thinks she knows what is happening to them, but nobody will believe her.
I always love how Simone St. James includes paranormal activities in her books. It makes the story a little more interesting
