Small Admissions by Amy Poeppel

4.0

3.5 stars. This was an odd book with an equally odd cast of characters and other than the title character, Kate, I unfortunately don’t feel like I ever got a good grip on any of them. The structure of the book was unusual though I did get used to it eventually and once I was about a third of the way through I couldn’t put it down. The best parts for me (and this won’t come as a surprise) were the juicy bits about Kate’s job in K-12 admissions at a private school. They were so realistic and relatable for me as a college admissions rep and kept me laughing and shaking my head the whole way through. I have more questions than answers now that I’ve finished this book, but I have to admit it was quite entertaining.
