My mood for this book:

“The one thing I did do was show up at the hospital at random hours, demanding to see Rosie. At first they kicked me out because she was asleep. Later on, it was because I was too drunk to function.”
I struggled with this book. There were elements I liked but for me there was just too much going on and in the end it pushed me over the edge. I had problems with similar things in the preceding book Vicious which probably contributed to my frustrations for Ruckus.
Spoilers below:
Assholes
Everyone in this book is deplorable. Every character does something that makes you like 'what the fuck why is everyone such asshole!'
Family
“Sitting back down, Mama flung an arm over my shoulder and squeezed me into her chest in half-a-hug I was quick to return. I was melting back into my former, happy self before she whispered into my ear, “Thank you for not ruining this, sweetheart. Daddy and I were worried.”
Rosie's family are just dicks, they're actually so mean to someone who is very ill and not in the way that it's tough love for her own good. They're just mean. Even Millie doesn't really come across great here... she doesn't stand up for Rosie against her parents, doesn't visit her in New York, tells everyone she is pregnant before Rosie, she's not exactly the advocate you expect her to be after the previous book. And the was NO CONSEQUENCES. Rosie just let her parents be and gave in, in the end...?
And Dean's parents... man I thought the were supposed to be the good ones but they didn't do really anything in Dean's best interest and again all happy family at the end.
Drugs
“He needed a diversion from whatever bothered him enough to drive him crazy and make him drink and smoke himself to death.”
Dean is basically just a high functioning addict, with not really a good reason... who somehow manages to quit with no rehab, withdrawals or pain? Rosie says she wants him to stop but really doesn't do much about it as she gets drunk and high with him multiple times... so really why anyone is surprised he's fucked out of his mind when Rosie gets hospitalised I will never understand.
Sex
“Dean ignored the girls he was about to pork, returning his glazy eyes to mine.”
One major thing I will never really get in this series is how the HotHole fuck everything that moves usually purposely in front of the 'love of their lives' and that's just that. It really put me of the male hero's right from the get go and it's just hard to believe that they really loved someone they repeatedly hurt. I get that it's all about pushing them away and protecting them, but it's doesn't come across like that, it just seems pointless.
Anyway I could go on but rant over, I need to move on.
I wanted to read the next book but I made that's how I ended up reading this book and I just can't.
