I was at a thrift store shuffling some trinkets around and found a small audio cassette tape container. It was covered in white paint splashes. I imagined that the previous owner was listening to the tapes while repainting a room or something. I flipped it over and saw it was Tom Clancy audio book for 75ยข. I'm poor and still have an old car with a cassette player and thought this would be fun.
This was my first actual Tom Clancy book and I was surprised. It was fun to listen to a little bit more of the story every time I got into the car. I had a hard time identifying with the characters and several times I found myself at a stoplight saying out loud "you've got to be kidding me." The voice acting is a museum piece from the late eighties. Overall it was a fun experience but not a book I would recommend.
