A review by peculiarly_reading
Sueño by Lorna Dee Cervantes

5.0

Key words I wrote down: seasons, waiting, change, permanence, cycles, material, nature, chicane, indigenous, gender, belonging, leaving, reunions, what is real, what is dream. I don’t think I’ve read something so grounded in a human experience and made me feel so at ease with the natural world. It is simultaneously a scorching critique of the systems that seek to destroy our roots in said world. I’m truly breathless.
