The Ninth Life of a Diamond Miner: A Memoir by Grace Tame

challenging dark emotional hopeful inspiring reflective sad slow-paced

4.0

Grace Tame's story feels so important.

Stories like hers are important for us to hear.
It's often not the obviously dodgy person who the vulnerable fall victim to.
It's the person who has disguised themselves so well that everyone looks straight past them, making them so much more dangerous.
And their victims so much more vulnerable, as their perpetrator is unknowingly supported in their actions by those around them.

It is an incredibly brave thing for a person to come forward about SA and SV that they have be subjected to.
I can not commend the bravery of Grace Tame enough.
To not only come forward and tell her story, but to then loudly push for justice for others who have also suffered at the hands of abusers.

And just like everyone, she has made mistakes, she has had good days and bad.
So, as much as the media likes to try make out that she is moody or rude (that photo of her and Scomo comes to mind), in reality - she is just a human being.
Doing the best she can.
Not only to work through her own past trauma, but to help others do so too, and trying to make sure more never need to.
