Sailor Twain: Or: The Mermaid in the Hudson
by Mark Siegel
Maybe I read it too fast, I do that sometimes with graphic novels and was admittedly looking for a palate cleanser of sorts.
The story seems like a really good start, but only at the end do we get a hint that there might be more to this world than we're being told. Otherwise it seems a little superficial and rushed, like when people that seem like foils to the main character suddenly become really important.
His technique with a charcoal pencil is impressive though, even if some of the characters (most of the characters) look distractingly like muppets.
