One of my favourite Vera books to date.
This time, Vera is facing that other branch of the family in the course of her investigation and some memories come fluttering at the edge of her memory to try and confuse her but, as usual, she and her team find their culprit.
I never really liked Holly and for part of the book I wished her gone but she redeemed herself a little towards the end. Obviously, Joe is the perfect sidekick for Vera whose unspoken battle for Joe’s wife, Sal, makes for some funny bits at time.
I just love that series and now feel at a loss waiting for the new book to come out.
