A Fatal Crossing by Tom Hindle

2.0

I needed up buying this book because it was described as for fans of isolated mysteries and Agatha Christie. However, this was a big disappointment for me. I was excited to read this mystery about a detective and officer who team up when one of the ships travelers is founded dead. We are following Temple who works for Scotland Yard but traveling to NYC on a luxury cruiser for work and Birch one of the ships officers. I mever connected to either of the main characters but I was interested in the mystery. One thing that I thought was done really well was the description of the different classes, cabins, and the actual ship. I enjoyed that part the most. I did not appreciate for the two side plots about the main characters that I felt were unnecessary. They were brought together at the end but I was not a fan. The final twist was unexpected but the explanation did not work for me. I am sad to give it two starts but it is what it is.
