As always with any book by H.D. Carlton, before I start this review, please check trigger warnings and please note that I don’t condone the actions during the storyline. However, I loved Molly.

This book is based on Molly, who we learned about in the Cat and Mouse duet. This is her story from before the events of Cat and Mouse and afterwards. To the world, Molly has been missing for years and the police are searching for the girl who seemed to vanish out of thin air and the world want to know where she is. However, in her dreams she never escaped the Oregon woods. Life after death isn’t easy to accept, especially when she still feels like a ghost. Now, she lives deep in the mountains of Montana – the paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors. Horrors that she only unleashes at night. When her pigs are allowed to feat.

I went into this book completely blind, like it took me a good few chapters to realise it was the same universe as the Cat and Mouse series, I was like this sounds familiar and it should have done because they were talking about Zade. I loved Molly’s development and I love how she went from this scared, abused woman to this strong, kick ass women who feeds bad people to pigs like you go girl. I loved Molly’s personality and I love how Cade was like you can be this tough girl around everyone else but around me. I loved Cade and I loved the relationship. I enjoyed the cameo from Zade and Addie.

I didn’t have anything to hate about this Novella, I just wanted it to be longer, like as long as the Cat & Mouse duet. It was a brutal read and I feel guilty for enjoying this book and I wanted to hug Molly so damn much.

I cannot wait to see what H.D. Carlton writes next.
