When the Light Went Out by Bridget Morrissey

2.0

Okay so I feel like this book had so much potential, it sounded so good. I was really interested to begin with. Quickly I realized this wasn’t like a mystery or a thriller. That wasn’t my only problem. My biggest problem was the writing style. The characters felt everything on this large lofty bigger than Existence feeling scale. If that even makes sense. And some of the metaphors and descriptions were odd and didn’t make sense. Some of the things they describe happening and feeling were just weird and didn’t make sense. This book fell really flat for me and I don’t recommend it. This book reminds me of something that wants to be huge and life changing but doesn’t know how so it pretends to be. I feel like this is a terribly written review but it’s hard to describe the way this book was written.
