Paladin's Grace
by T. Kingfisher
adventurous
lighthearted
medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven:
A mix
Strong character development:
Yes
Loveable characters:
Yes
Diverse cast of characters:
No
Flaws of characters a main focus:
Yes
The book starts off very strong but it kinda falls flat for me at the end.
Basically if you have trouble with romantasy because you oftentimes find the main characters dull and samey then you will like this book. Both Stephen and Grace are very distinct characters with their own traumas that are very well written. Their dynamic is also very interesting.
However if you don't like romantasy because you feel the more interesting parts of the story kinda fall flat, then this story will disappoint you. There are a lot of interesting story points (the dead god, the murders, the poisoning) but none of them really get resolved in a way that felt satisfactory.
Also T Kingfisher's very tongue and cheek way of writing is very present so if you don't like that type of style then I don't think you will enjoy it
