1.5 stars. A classic case of great premise, poor execution... with a few surrealist twitches. Halfway through I remarked to a friend ‘I can’t tell if the book sucks, or I suck’ - heartened to confirm that it’s the book, this coming from a certified self-loather. Insert joke about reading ‘The Trial’ being a trial here.
