The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

5.0

When Avery inherits billions and billions from someone she believes she doesn’t know, her life is turned upside down. This book is most likely the best book I’ve read all year. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat and all I wanted to do with my hours is read this book. I have to say that the beginning of the story was slower, but it picked up the pace around 1/3 through the book. At first I thought the plot was going to be similar to other stories I have read but I was very very wrong! The games and riddles through the book were unlike anything I have seen before and the twists that came regularly but not too often throughout the book left me sitting in Starbucks with my jaw open. The characters in this book were intriguing and I loved reading about their every detail and only wanted more. I wish I could have met the characters and I don’t say that often! I cannot wait to read the sequel of this book to see what happens to these characters and how the story could possible develop further! I will say that the book is a young adult book and is written like one so is written simply and was not hard to comprehend but actually this is just what I needed - something that was extremely gripping and had many parts I couldn’t guess but was not hard to understand.
