In The Afterlight
by Alexandra Bracken
Ehhhhhh this was very dissapointing. This book felt like a mix of Allegiant and Mockingjay (two books I hate). If it weren't for the beginning and the last 70-80 pages I'd probably give it 2 stars.
My main issues with this book is that NOTHING REALLY HAPPENED. I felt like there wasn't any plot progression at all. It was just 4-500 pages with repeting material. Ruby was making so many dumb decicions that I got so irritated at her. The romance was the typical cheesy YA romance and it was so cringing to read about. The ending was just too easy and not satisfying at all. I wanted more of a bang in the story. I was so excited to read In The Afterlight, but sadly this book did not live up to my hopes.
