Maybe it was just the timing of me reading this that made me dislike it. Maybe if I had read it at a different time I would’ve liked it more. But it was just so boring and difficult to read and I honestly skimmed about 3/4 of the book.

Don’t get me wrong, this book was well-written. But my problem with the whole thing is that the story is so unoriginal. I can appreciate a story that borrows elements of other stories I LOVE, as long as they are mixed in with some originality. But this book really lacked the originality part. Ender Wiggin Tom is an unexciting, flat character, especially as the book’s narrator. And Ron Weasley Vik and Hermione Granger Wyatt are not that great, either.

I’d only recommend this book to people who haven’t read Ender’s Game because this story is basically the same premise as Ender’s Game, except with more teenagers and fewer aliens.

Despite my disappointment in this book, I’m going to continue reading the series to see where it goes.
