Through the Woods by E.M. Carroll

4.5

ive been a fan of emily carroll's work for years, frequently rereading her illustrated stories on her website (margot's room, his face all red) and was thrilled to see my library had a digital edition of this book through libby!

my favorites if this collection in order:
- the conclusion, has been and will always be my fave since i came across one of the panels aaaages ago. "but the wolf... the wolf only needs enough luck to find you once."
-his face all red, classic came-back-wrong horror. "it came from the woods (most strange things do)" / "and i was the only one who noticed... his fine coat... it wasn't torn."
-our neighbors house. surprisingly creepy yet subtle. "it is obvious at a glance, he is no man."
- the nesting place. surprisingly junji ito esque but i liked it.
- my friend jannah. neat lil ghost story.
-a lady's hands are cold. my least favorite, but i still enjoyed it. it just didn't hit as hard for me.
