Silverborn: The Mystery of Morrigan Crow
by Jessica Townsend
On the one hand, thank goodness the book I’ve been waiting literal years for was as good as hoped, on the other hand, now I must wait who knows how long for book 5. The murder mystery worked really well, but I feel like it did take away a bit from Morrigan’s lessons, which are some of my favorite parts. But I loved how much time we got to spend with Cadence, and learning more about Jack and his past. While the Silver District scenes weren’t my fave (just because I missed school/hotel life), I did appreciate exploring complicated relationships with family and Mog finding her way back to her true home. I probably could have benefitted from another reread of previous books, but I figured everything out eventually. There’s a lot of setup for future installments that I’m really excited to unravel — namely WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH EZRA SQUALL IM DYING TO KNOW. OK but what did y’all think?
