I can’t tell if I liked this book or not. It was easy listening as an audiobook, but what happened? Main character goes on reality tv, has a bad time, learns there’s more to life than stuff. But it’s still all about stuff?
At first I thought we were going to learn bits and pieces about the outside world and what’s happening by reading between the lines. But the world outside of the compound is just…the world. Other than Lily, no one else seems intent on escaping it.
Sure there was some suspense around whether there was betrayal. Or some of the eliminations were…tense.
If this is meant to be a takedown of influencer culture or reality tv…I don’t know that it started from a point where it was actually considered good.
Also what’s with Andrew being brainwashed?
