I'm not certain that I have the words to review this book. There were parts that were hard to read, while realizing that, while fiction, it's based on reality of how a segment of society was treated. Is still treated,as it turns out.
It saddens and frustrates me that racism hasn't really changed that much, and is still a part of us.
As far as the novel itself is concerned,it truly is a thing of beauty. The writing is beautifully done and the characterizations lovely. This is definitely a book that will be with me for a very long time.
