Love Is a Mix Tape by Rob Sheffield
5.0

The easiest 5 stars that I gave this year so far.

This book has some of my favourite things to read about: love, nostalgia and music. However, it also explores sadness and loss coming from the death of a loved one, but Rob Sheffield writes about all of this in the most amazing way while introducing us to some of the greatest songs of all the time. It’s a journey through space and time, fulfilled with passion and music.

I’m from a different generation than Rob. I was born in the era of cds and grew up to see the mp4 scene and the spotify era growing inside me. Times change, but music stays and so do mixes- now in a different form in our timeless playlists in digital gadgets. I loved way too many quotes in this book but I’m going to leave this incredibly special one: “When we die, we will turn into songs, and we will hear each other and remember each other.”

Words cannot express how much I loved this book.
